Artist Statement
I have a strong passion for transforming ideas into graphic design pieces. Drawing, although sometimes challenging, excites me because I can witness the remarkable differences between the initial sketch and the final artwork. Shapes and colors come together to transform a simple drawing into a work of art.
My mother, who is a stylist and seamstress, serves as my inspiration. Her work involves having conversations with clients to understand their desires and then designing clothes based on those ideas. During the sewing process, there is a fitting to ensure all the details are aligned, and finally, the client receives the finished piece.
As a graphic and UI/UX designer, I apply a similar process to my graphic work. In the first meeting, I try to understand the client’s needs and desires to deliver a more precise final product. Usually, I sketch it on paper and then I develop this on the computer using software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
These programs allow me to bring my clients' ideas to life by creating layouts and manipulating images in a visually comprehensive way. InDesign, for example, enables me to transform a simple Word document into a book. An idea for an app or website can be transformed into a UX Design project that effectively communicates the client's vision, allowing engineers and web designers to bring it to life.
As a designer I need inspiration and my routine often presents opportunities for me to have a creative perspective on my work. These inspirations lead me to create new projects and review works in progress and make the necessary changes before delivering them to the clients.
